Really good food, & really good owners!
This restaurant made the most memorable Valentine's Day for me, my husband and two kids! It was a peaceful, romantic environment and the staff did an excellent job making sure everything was perfect, considering it was opening night for the season. The food? Delicious! Although, our steak could have been a little more "done". It was a little pricey, but overall worth it, considering it was a special occasion. I give it five stars! I would definitely recommend this place, and we will be going back! It was an enjoyable family experience!
Beautiful view and delicious food. My favorite was the seared ahi tuna appetizer and French onion soup. Our server was friendly and quick to deliver. We will definitely be back!
Getting a fish platter is always a gamble, but we did it anyway and the Village did NOT disappoint! Everything on the plate was amazing and they gave us SO much food. The service was also so friendly. Even with their covid guidelines, serving us through a window, they were friendly and spoke with smiles the whole time! I can’t wait until we can go back!
It was amazing. The food was great and the best seafood. The service was outstanding. They went out of their way for us. They treated us like family. I would go back.
The restaurant is such a cute little place perfect for pictures! Everyone was super nice and our waitress, Rebekah, was super helpful especially about my allergy. The food came in really great portions and it was so fresh and delicious! All in all just an awesome experience.
Service is excellent. Seafood is fresh and large portions.
Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I can not say enough about how well everything turned out. It is difficult to find a place that can cook several seafood items and have them all turn out perfect but this place nailed it from the calamari to the seafood special. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The restaurant was very relaxing and comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and I can't wait to return myself.
The best fish restaurant we found in town by far. The raw oysters--even in off season--were fresh and better than we had found in a while. Unique and satisfying taste. Share the seasfood feast--plenty for 2-3 people. We got it broiled and it was more than we coudl handle--pity though because every bite was so good: clams, oysters, lobster tail, shrimp, white fish, and dear me, large juicy SCALLOPS!
This Island is known for their oysters, but one of the highest rated seafood restaurants on this floating rock doesn’t know how to cook them.I ordered the steamed oysters and they came out looking like large golden raisins. Imagine opening a 3” shell to find a quarter-sized shriveled up chewy lump. The waitress noticed I wasn’t eating them and asked if she could bring a new order. The second batch was better, but still over cooked.
Excellent service, friendly staff, and the food was perfectly prepared, fresh, and imaginative..... only one thing wrong with this place; i have been coming down here for over 40 years and had never eaten here before.... but, that's fixed now!!Will absolutely eat here again!!
Absolutely the nicest folks ever! Outstanding food. Really, they could not have been any nicer. Coconut shrimp to die for! Cream of Crab soup the best I ever had.
Mediocre at best. I'm astonished that this place has such a high rating on Google. It gives the impression that the restaurant is top of the line, and it isn't.
Very good oysters. Price could've been better but was given one extra so I can't complain. Staff is friendly and informative.
Some of the best food I'm Chincoteage. Seafood platter is amazing. Servers are always sweet too.
Very good fish dinner...fresh flounder.... excellent server and hostesses. Bread was the only low point...bad bread....Two darling cats at the entrance!
Had a great experience here! Calamari was done to perfection, great entrees with tasty salads. Service was excellent. Nice local feel with a view of the marsh
Our waitress is outstanding, excellent service. My husband ordered a $47 meal that was cooked improperly. The entrees were expensive & my family said they were not impressed & didn't want to return. I thought the appetizers were fantastic. The outward appearance is misleading, its very nice on the inside. I enjoyed it but I can only give 3 stars because my family did not.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The seafood was just old tasting and strong.
Or last day at Chincoteague and we choose The Village for or last hurrah. Waitress Madison was a sweetheart, the bartender, Lisa was super and she made one heck of a Tom Colins. 1st try. Lol. The oysters on a half shell was outstanding and so were the meals. Homemade bread was excellent and we were so satisfied that we highly would recommend this place as a must.
We came on a very busy night, otherwise this would be one star. The stuffed flounder was overcooked, as was the chicken in the chicken salad. Unless it was battered and fried, everything our party had was overcooked and lacked seasoning. I actually enjoy the flavors of some fish, without seasoning—but when it gets that overcooked, it was like trying to eat carpeting.
Decent food at reasonable prices but the paper menu at the front hostess table is not what we were charged. The waitress said the "real menus" we were given at the outside dinning area is what was honored. They also don't do a free birthday cake but they did bring a bowl of water for the dog upon asking, and that matters more. And the mosquitoes were at bay when we ate but the attacked at the end.
Great food and wonderful service!
Great customer service. The food was delicious and they give you a lot, you won’t leave hungry. Love the drinks too. They offered us bug spray when the Mosquitoes were bothering us
Dinner tonight was outstanding!!! Sat out "on the deck" with my family. Great view, very clean, friendly and attentive staff. Crab dip, steamed shrimp, salmon and scalps wrapped with bacon. Must do!!
Good food, good service, beautiful scenery.
This was one of our favorite spots in Chincoteague!! The food was delicious (we recommend the crab dip for an app!) and the service was phenomenal. We had a great spot overlooking the marsh, too. We would definitely go back!
Food could of been better along with the service
One of the top restaurants on the island. Friendly staff and great food! Never disappoints
We had a one night stopover on our Southbound travels. We decided to try the Village restaurant, it was only a few minutes from the hotel and looked down home. We were right! The Village is down-home, laid-back and has exceptional food. Our Server was very friendly answering all our questions and got us cocktails quickly after a long drive in fog and rain. We both had the flounder stuffed with crab. My flounder was fried stuffed with a crab cake. My wife’s flounder was broiled with crab imperial stuffing. Some of the best flounder I ever tasted. The Village is located on a small creek on Chincoteague Island. Simply Beautiful views! We had cheesecake for dessert. That was average, everything else was fantastic.
Probably our favorite restaurant in chincoteague
Very nice family restaurant. Dinners are nice local fare and the staff is very pleasant.
The restaurant was clean and had a fun, welcoming atmosphere. The food, however, was only mediocre. Pretty disappointing for a seafood restaurant in a seafood town.
Very good food. Atmosphere is nice. Priced on higher side of chincoteague restaurants but comparable to others with similar offerings. Fish is very good. Steaks and overall seafood.
Not knowing that reservation was needed, we waited 35 minutes to get a table. While we waited we saw the servers and manager walk across the area to the kitchen. I can see this being an issue when a full tray of food is knocked out of the server's hands. But on to the meal. We waited to order drinks, waited to order, waited longer for the appetizers and salads. Then finally our entrees. His was the seafood feast. He said it was ok. The seafood delight was a miss for me. The shrimp was rubbery, the scallops were undercooked. The baked potato that was order never made it out to table. It was going to take another five minutes to bake. I choose the applesauce due to the kitchen was not needed. While we waited all time in the building, high tide came in. Most of the streets flooded another with a restaurant across the street. So call for reservations, go early to ensure you can walk/drive to and from without becoming a duck. You have been warned!!
Really enjoyed my dining experience here! We made a reservation and after a short wait we were seated. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, a woman who may have been the manager stopped by our table and chatted with us even though it was a busy night for them. The food came quickly and was very good, especially the warm bread and whipped butter. We were seated near a window overlooking the marshlands as the sunset, beautiful. Overall great experience!
The food and the service here was amazing. I got stuffed rockfish and scallops. My wife got the stir fried vegetables with chicken. The price was very reasonable and the restaurant was very clean.
This place is okay they have very little to choose from on the menu. Unless you enjoy red or white wine! Also be friendly to cats outside they are adorable. The people here seem very friendly but the wait time was so long we ended up leaving mid meal. Also it is on a boat and does move periodically so if you get sea sick be warned. On the plus side it is close to plenty of things to do so location wise it is great as well as the people !
I can not say enough good things about this place. The seafood is awesome, but the service is INCREDIBLE! The manager is one of the nicest folks I've met and the wait staff is first rate! Was on the island for 5 days and I ate there 4 nights! Amazing place, Amazing Food, Amazing Service!
Too crowded and food not worth the wait. Cokes are ridiculously small and only get one refill
Great seafood. Not fancy you don't need to dress up. Good daily specials. Staff not super helpful/friendly.
I have mixed reviews on this local seafood restaurant. The service was excellent but my seafood delight was extremely bland. However my husband did like his jumbo shrimp. So I can only say give it a chance to see what you think.
My coworker and I both got the seafood platter. Most of it was amazing but the fish was super super dry. The she crab soup was really good too.
I really enjoy this restaurant. This is my favorite on the island. Nice environment and views. The food is good, it's not overpriced and good size portions.
We come down to visit a couple times a year from NJ and we always make it a point to go to The Village for dinner!! Staff is so friendly, service is wonderful and the food is amazing!! Can't get enough of your crab balls or your fried scallops...the best on the island!! Can't wait to come visit again!
Rose Ann and Bob had a few of the girls over before the holiday..Mr Bob's fried oysters were my favorite.. absolutely delicious seafood. Thanks for a great meal and a special picture Rose Ann painted just for me..the company was great too!
Awesome food. Great service
This place is excellent. My wife and I got the surf and turf. OMG it was delicious. I only wish I dinned in instead of carry out. That meal should be enjoyed relaxed in a nice atmosphere which they provide. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. Highly recommend this place. Highly recommend.
The best seafood I've ever Had! Friendly staff as Well! During off season not so bad on seating, be warned reservation may be necessary during the season. Introduced to a new wine as well, Cavit Moscato, amazing!!! Loved it here!
We go back every year and it is always the best. Try the fried flounder and be transported to seafood heaven. Excellent service.
